Temple Israel is a progressive Jewish Reform congregation: Tolerant and multicultural, participatory and flexible and, above all, warm and welcoming to both Jewish and interfaith families.
We welcome you with open arms and open minds. We nurture our members’ Jewish identities with dedication to Torah, traditions, and each other. We encourage every member, new and old, to connect with our multi-generational, multi-cultural, diverse community.
At Temple Israel, we want to be a spiritual haven for Jews of all backgrounds, cultures and national origins. The Jewish tradition and experience are not homogenous or monolithic; we work to make sure our services and programming reflect that diversity.
Our congregation is home to members from Brazil, Colombia, Honduras, Argentina, Russia, the Philippines, and Germany – and those are just the members who live in Kansas City! Using the web and other digital technology, we seek to include our international members in our congregational life in Kansas City.
