Temple Israel’s religious school seeks not only to teach for the sake of knowledge, but above all to enhance the practice of our faith.  Judaism is not a book on the shelf but something that we apply daily in the choices we make and in the way we live our lives.  We want our students to embrace the love of studying Torah. We help them internalize the need for prayer  while recognizing that prayer comes in many forms, including those we say in synagogue services as well as how we act in the world. Educational Opportunities

We have several opportunities for you to learn throughout the week and month.  Check our calendar for upcoming educational events. Our activities are open to Jews by choice and by birth, from all backgrounds, and with a wide range levels of knowledge and experience. Friends from other religious traditions are also welcome to study Judaism with us. All activities take place at Temple Israel of Greater Kansas City unless otherwise noted. Some of our Family Learning Days are held in different places around Kansas City. Monthly Study for Children Weekly classes for children from kindergarten through 10th grade. Pre-school activities are held on a flexible schedule. Classes will be taught by Temple Israel  members under the supervision of Education Director Margaret Lange and Rabbi Cukierkorn.
