Yahrzeit Plaque Ready for Members’ Remembrances: Forever a Part of Us, We Remember Them

One of the hallmarks of our Jewish traditions is our loyalty to our loved ones who have died.  In keeping with this tradition, we observe the anniversary of a loved one’s death by reciting the Kaddish and performing acts of charity.  A Yahrzeit plaque is a permanent reminder of the place our loved one held in our lives.

As Temple Israel begins its sixth full year as a congregation, we’re starting a new tradition: a Yahrzeit plaque on which TI members can honor their loved ones, of blessed memory.

The plaque will officially be unveiled at the High Holidays and will be prominently displayed at all Temple services and events until we have walls of our own. Engraved plates for the plaque range from $250 to $1000.

Sunday, September 25 is the latest you can order a plate to have it engraved and on the plaque in time for Yom Kippur.
